Founded in 1845 in Glashütte, the holy land of German watchmaking. After the unification of East and West Germany, the former state-run factory GUB was privatized, and the company was re-launched as Glashütte Original in 1994. The symbol of Glashütte Original is the swan-necked swan neck regulator in the shape of a swan, which can be seen on the caseback. In 2000, Glashütte Original became a member of Swatch, the world’s largest watch group, and continues to carry on the tradition of German watchmaking.
